Hi,
Is it now a legal requirement for bailiffs to wear bodycams?

No, it's not a legal requirement. What makes you ask?

It was something I was told a little while ago by an 'expert on everything'! I had a bailiff at my gate today and he didn't have a bodycam - I wondered if he was breaking regulations.

Not a legal requirement, but if you see a bailiff was wearing one and you bring a proceeding in connection with the visit, add to your witness statement something like this;

  • Mr. NAME was wearing a body worn camera, which Mr. NAME said he was recording me. The camera had a red light on it indicating it was recording and functioning properly throughout.
