#1 Jbw help

Post by Keiratlacey1 » 26 Apr 2017 14:53

Hello I'm new to this group and was wondering if I could get some help. I have received a letter from jbw for a balance of £755 for unpaid council tax . I was unaware I owed them any money an this is the first I've heard about it when I received this letter. I have spoken to them and they are asking I pay £126.00 a month. This is not do-able my partner is leaving me but at the moment is currently living under my roof URL his home is ready so my benefits will change when he goes. They asked for 3mth statement which will show our joint income and will do until the middle of may when he leaves. I offered to pay £10.00 a month but they told me to highlight his payments and a covering letter to explain so they can lease with the council. Can the council not take this back an allow me to pay them direct . Any help would be great full

You should have received a final notice or a reminder before the council applied for a liability order.

The landlord has continued to let them think i live there until he got a new tenant that moved in on 6th feb 16. So they told me unless i can prove it im.liable.for that to that date. So if this is case my post would be goin there. Ive had nothing to my mums address and nothin to my new address which i moved in 4 mth ago . Then the letter came from jbw

You can tell them now.

Make an affidavit. The council cannot go behind it.

JBW were able to communicate at your new address. That is evidence in itself you vacated your previous address.

Here is a blank one to get you started.

Once you have completed it, take it to any county court to swear it in for free. Take photo ID with you. Make copies before sending the original.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

You just say that you did not occupy the charge address for the dates the council is seeking council tax.

You could be classed as vulnerable. It doesn't necessarily mean enforcement stops but if you provide evidence to the bailiff and council they could withdraw and allow you to deal direct with the council. Are you employed?
On 25/07/17, Dodgeball said "Telling the truth isn’t slander, in fact, it wouldn’t be slander anyway, as that is verbal not written. Liable is the word you are looking for." Discuss.

Have your doctor complete a MALG evidence form. That should put the mockers on it.

I can't tell them how much I will receive because my ex partner won't leave my house his house isn't ready yet. He was all set to go but it's been delayed 3 weeks so he gets his money an gives me nothing . I just get my child benefit and child tax .

Citizens advice only gives advice to an agenda and gather statistics for government use.

Here is the MALG form.
