A bit more infor is needed. I assume this is a council tax debt.

What letters or notices have you had from the council and the bailiff? How much is the debt and how much in fees has been added? What did you try to arrange? Do you have a car outside?

I agree. More info needed. Run this checklist and let us know what flags up.

Do not contact the bailiffs. They will mess you about. http://beatthebailiffs.org/Council-tax-bailiffs.html

I've been under a great deal of stress nursing my grandad threw cancer and going through a miscarriage last month. I've tried to speak to him and he's just arrogant.

I think you may qualify as a vulnerable person. Get your doctor to complete a MALG evidence form. The council should withdraw bailiff action, or you can contact the local government ombudsman because the council is in breach of Paragraphs 70 to 78 of the Taking Control of Goods National Standards 2014 and potentially, Regulation 10(1) of the Taking Control of Goods Regulations 2013 and Regulation 12 of the Taking Control of Goods (Fees) Regulations 2014
