#1 Visit from bailiff,court fees!

Post by yahoo » 17 Aug 2017 21:10

Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie on here having had a few years without bailiff hassles when I was younger but kids, marriage and all that!! Anyway, to cut to the chase, I had an outstanding court fine for £195.00 for speeding which I paid 2 instalments of £35.00 but struggled for a while as I was a mature student. Fast forward to August this year and I receive a letter from Collective requesting the balance of £125.00 plus a compliance fee of £75. I paid the initial amount online to clear the fine but today had a visit from one of Marstons cronies demanding the full amount. Remembering previous experiences with bailiffs, I filmed the whole thing. He told me his name and number twice but showed no ID or warrant then refused to mention his number again. Is it true that the warrant is invalid because the fine is paid? And does a compliance fee apply for a fines opposed to a debt? All he left (which he threw on the floor) was a removal notice for £310.00 and the threat of returning! Do I need to be worried? My wife is very nervous and I'm worried of him forcing his way past her to levy on anything he sees!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance

S.

Hi ......thanks for the link! Is it bad form to 'first-name' the bailiff or upload the footage to Youtube? Don't want to break any forum etiquette? Do you think I'll be ok?
Thanks

Had a letter received today saying that although I've paid the fine,I still have to pay the bailiff fees and all communication must be with Collective! Do I just disregard this?

Once the fine has been paid, the enforcement power ceases.

The bailiff company is a commercial entity and wants its fee.

If an enforcement step is taken then you can sue for damages and claim it all back.

Do you think I said anything in the video clip that is either wrong, self incriminating or inaccurate?

Nothing as I could see.

When a bailiff gets defensive when realising he is filmed, then he knows he is doing something wrong.

Anyone with a clear conscience won't have a problem being filmed.

Hi yahoo. Just so you know, your case is being mocked on a certain blog that hates how this site foils rogue bailiffs.

That fills me with a warm sense of satisfaction, joy and 'f**k you' to bailiffs of all shapes, sizes and limited I.Q.! Any clues to the blog's name?
