Please help Urgent

Just over 5 years ago through my own fault I ended up in Crown Court, I had been dissmissed from my employment, no savings and a house jointly owned with a mortage so my solicitor applied for and was granted Legal Aid. My case was dealt with by means of a short suspended scentence and Community Order.
Last week I received two very disturbing letters from Rossendales headed Legal Aid claiming I owed £9.5K towards my legal Aid. This is the first I have heard of this Order! In one letter they have overvalued my house by £100K and claimed I Have savings of £20K. I have not worked since the one and only transgression but instead managed to bring forward a work pension. My wife and I now survive on a gross income of £15K. PA.
What am I supposed to do? I have until 28th of this month to pay.
HELP.

Have you got paperwork showing over valuation of your house and about these savings?

If the Court used wrong information to create an assessment, then you can appeal.

Hi

yes, it overstates "equity in main property" by at least £100k and goes on to include this overestmate in "disposable capital"
Can the letter be genuine after all this time with no prior notification?

What court has made the order? If this is in the magistrates court, then you can do something about it.

I'd need to seek advice myself if this is a crown court proceeding.

In the letters it mentions Crown Court but I have no idea about any order being made, I have written to the CEO of the Legal Aid Agency which they will receive tomorrow. Im really worried about all of this as they mention taking goods to the value if I dont pay within the 28 days.

Rossendales have had little luck with the enforcement of Capital Contribution Orders.

They started dabbling with it when its former self bid on the enforcement contract.

Knocking doors demanding £30,000 is never going to work.
